The Free Bizee Months Run Out. West Virginia's July 1 Does Not Move.

The Bundle Is Real Money

Bizee traded as Incfile for years and kept the hook that made it work: agent coverage folded into its formation packages at no charge, lasting a quarter at the entry level and a full year at the top, according to the tier you bought. If Bizee is filing your Articles of Organization regardless, that inclusion is a genuine saving and not a gimmick. Somebody has to hold the address line during your first months, they are willing to do it for free, and free is a hard price to argue with.

Then a Date Arrives That Nobody Circled

When the included stretch ends, standalone agent service is $149 a year. The handoff is the part that catches people, and it catches them precisely because nothing was being charged before it. There is no invoice arriving quarterly to remind you the arrangement exists. There is a free period, then a bill, and the bill is easy to accept without weighing it against anything, because by then the address is already on file and changing it feels like work.

West Virginia Has Its Own Date, and It Refuses to Move

Most states hang the annual report off your formation anniversary or the close of the calendar year. West Virginia picked the first of July and applies it to everybody, which makes it the rare deadline that has nothing to do with when you started.

The filing window opens January 1 and closes June 30. The fee is $25. Miss the window and a $50 late penalty attaches, so the same report now costs $75. Keep missing it and the penalty stops being money: sixty days past the due date with nothing delivered, and the state can administratively dissolve the company. Filing has to go through the One Stop Business Portal, since West Virginia no longer accepts the annual report on paper.

There is also a quieter option on the Secretary of State's 2026 schedule for owners who would rather not track the date twice. Fifty dollars prepays two years of reports at once. It saves nothing on the fee, but it removes one deadline from your calendar, which for some people is worth more than a discount.

So you are managing two dates: the one Bizee sets when the free window closes, and the one West Virginia set for everyone. Only one of them will send you a warning.

Leaving Bizee: One $15 Application

West Virginia moves an agent designation on Form AAO, the Secretary of State's combined application for agent, officer, and address changes, filed with the Business & Licensing Division for $15 and signed by whoever is coming in. The one rule about timing: your replacement goes on the form that takes Bizee off it, so the new arrangement has to exist before you file. There is no scenario here where a lawsuit falls into a void, since West Virginia routes process to the Secretary of State when a company has no agent of record. What you lose during a stale stretch is the fast, private channel you were paying for in the first place, which is the thing worth protecting.

The best week to handle it is the week before the free months expire.
